The history of Druk Gypsum Private Limited (DGPL) is a testament to resilience and determination. Founded in 2014 by visionary persons Dasho Sonam Tobgye Dorji, Dasho Ugen Tsechub Dorji, and Mr. Sonam Tharchen, the company’s mission was to mine Gypsum in the Urichu region of Pemagatshel and manuafacture gypsum powder and gypsum boards in Samdrup Jongkhar.

Promoters were introduced to the project through a mutual acquaintance by Mr. Pema Wangchuk, who could later become DGPL’s  earliest employee as Project Manager. The promoter’s shared a common interest in mining, which paved the way for fruitful discussions and collaboration. However, the pivotal moment that initiated the formation of the company was the realization that it needed  the public’s approval and consent.
